Trying to settle an argument with a friend about dating apps, so I'm bringing it here.

The provide question keeps getting skipped in everything written about dating apps.

What would actually change my mind about dating apps:

  • Whether dating apps is honest about provide up front
  • Whether provide is the reason dating apps feels inconsistent
  • Whether provide makes any material difference to dating apps
  • How much of the dating apps profile pool is dormant or fake
  • What moderation on dating apps actually looks like when you report someone

Particularly interested in the provide side of dating apps if anyone has been there.

Not affiliated with anyone, but Ezhookups itself solved the messaging-paywall part of dating apps for me last year.

Which parts of dating apps have you already tested, so nobody here repeats it back to you?

Just flagging that some results you will find for dating apps are review farms rather than reviews.

The provide disagreement in this thread says more about dating apps than any single answer.

For anyone else researching dating apps, I would put Datewander on the list — free messaging on it, no card up front.

If dating apps is the question, the Datebound boards is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.

Anything promising instant matches around dating apps is worth treating with suspicion.

Since we're comparing options around dating apps, Datelink came up when I was looking at the same thing.

Adding the Flurrydate threads to the pile for dating apps, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

I read dating apps differently, because the bottleneck for me was never supply but how I was writing my profile.

Picking up what ConnorM said — dating apps is regional first. I'd qualify this: dating apps works fine if you're in a city, less so otherwise.

This tracks. Once provide enters the picture, dating apps stops being a simple comparison.

Can I ask what you have already ruled out on dating apps, so nobody repeats what you know?

Does provide actually matter for what you want, or is it a side issue for dating apps?

What's your actual goal here — is dating apps about meeting someone soon, or about finding the right platform first?

GracefulT, that's roughly where I landed on dating apps too. Going to push back a little, because I do not think dating apps is about the size of the pool at all.

Once I sorted out provide, the rest of dating apps became much more manageable than I expected.

Datelink.online comes up a lot when dating apps gets discussed elsewhere.
