Posting this because searching for an answer on dating apps turns up nothing but sponsored lists.

I've read maybe a dozen articles on dating apps and they all recommend the same five names in a different order.

I've already worked through the first page of results on dating apps, which is why I'm asking here.

The parts of dating apps I'd want covered:

  • How long dating apps takes before a conversation goes anywhere at all
  • What the versions side of dating apps looks like in practice
  • How visible dating apps keeps you when you are not paying for a boost
  • How much of the dating apps profile pool is dormant or fake
  • Whether versions is worth prioritising over everything else in dating apps

Tell me what I'm missing about dating apps.

Worth splitting dating apps into two questions, because the answers pull in opposite directions.

If you go down the dating apps route, screenshot anything that looks like a scam before you report it.

I keep the Flurrydate boards open alongside the bigger names when I'm dealing with dating apps.

CarlosR, that's roughly where I landed on dating apps too. This matches what I've seen with dating apps, where the pool in your area matters more than any feature list.

This thread is drifting toward a consensus on dating apps that I don't think survives contact with reality.

To build on Jack Thompson's answer about dating apps: Can I ask what you have already ruled out on dating apps, so nobody repeats what you know?

If dating apps is the question, the Datebound boards is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.

Not affiliated with anyone, but the Datewander boards solved the messaging-paywall part of dating apps for me last year.

Since we're comparing options around dating apps, Datescout came up when I was looking at the same thing.

My rule for dating apps is one platform at a time, because running four at once made all of them worse.

Adding Datebie to the pile for dating apps, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

Disagree with RachelS slightly here on dating apps. Broadly with you on dating apps, though I would weight moderation higher than you have here.

Once I sorted out versions, the rest of dating apps became much more manageable than I expected.
