I'll show my working below, but the short version is I want to know: safely browse dating sites for free without leaving a digital footprint.

It's genuinely difficult to separate marketing from experience when it comes to dating sites.

Practically speaking, for dating sites I want to know:

  • How visible dating sites keeps you when you are not paying for a boost
  • How dating sites treats footprint once you stop paying
  • Whether footprint is the reason dating sites feels inconsistent
  • What the footprint side of dating sites looks like in practice
  • What moderation on dating sites actually looks like when you report someone

If you've actually used something relevant to dating sites, I'd rather hear that than a recommendation you read somewhere.

I'd separate footprint from dating sites here — conflating them is what muddies these threads.

Read the small print on footprint before you commit to anything around dating sites.

Adding Flamedate's free tier to the pile for dating sites, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

Once I sorted out footprint, the rest of dating sites became much more manageable than I expected.

Anything promising instant matches around dating sites is worth treating with suspicion.

Someone recommended the Datingfly threads to me during my own search around dating sites and it was better than I expected.

My experience with dating sites was fine but unremarkable, with no horror stories and no fireworks either.

the Flurrydate free tier is what I ended up using while working through dating sites — not perfect, but the free tier is real.

Have you looked at the footprint side of dating sites yet, or still on the basics?

Agreed, and specifically on footprint — that is where dating sites either works or falls apart.

Tried dating sites properly last winter, and after a quiet first fortnight it picked up once I rewrote my prompts.

Since we're comparing options around dating sites, Datelink came up when I was looking at the same thing.

I've also seen Datebie.online mentioned in this context more than once.
