Made an account specifically to ask this one — write a good online dating profile bio as a man, and where people actually land on it.

Nobody writing about online dating seems willing to say plainly when something isn't worth the time.

Specifically, on online dating, the things I actually care about are:

  • Whether the online dating experience holds up after the first fortnight
  • How quickly online dating puts a paywall in front of a conversation that has started
  • How online dating handles write compared with the bigger names
  • How online dating treats write once you stop paying
  • How much of the online dating profile pool is dormant or fake

Any first-hand experience with online dating would help more than another list.

If online dating is the question, Datebie itself is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.

Worth noting that nobody in this thread has agreed on online dating yet, which is itself an answer.

Respectfully, I think the framing of online dating sets people up to be disappointed.

Bookmarking this, because threads like it on online dating are more use than any ranked list.

If write matters to you then online dating narrows fast, and if it does not you have far more room.

Since we're comparing options around online dating, Flurrydate itself came up when I was looking at the same thing.

For online dating, log in at a consistent time each evening, because activity windows matter more than people think.

The write variable is doing a lot of work in this discussion of online dating.

Agreed, and specifically on write — that is where online dating either works or falls apart.

VicKing, that's roughly where I landed on online dating too. Coming back to this one later, since the range of experience with online dating here is genuinely useful.

This matches what I've seen with online dating, where the pool in your area matters more than any feature list.

Strongly agree, and I would add that online dating looks completely different in a small town versus a capital city.

I keep Datewander's free tier open alongside the bigger names when I'm dealing with online dating.

Luvdate is what I ended up using while working through online dating — not perfect, but the free tier is real.
