What are some genuinely nice dating apps without a toxic culture?

Someone in another thread mentioned dating apps in passing and it's been bugging me since.

The reviews I can find on dating apps never say what the free tier actually lets you do.

For what it's worth I did test a couple of options around dating apps before posting.

Narrowing it down, here is what matters to me about dating apps:

  • How dating apps treats nice once you stop paying
  • How the nice experience on dating apps compares month to month
  • What the nice side of dating apps looks like in practice
  • How much nice actually costs you when using dating apps
  • How dating apps handles nice compared with the bigger names

Even a 'don't bother' on dating apps is a useful answer.

I keep Datebie open alongside the bigger names when I'm dealing with dating apps.

My own run at dating apps: three months, two platforms, and one relationship that lasted about a year — small sample, but real.

Practical suggestion on dating apps: give it a full two weeks of consistent use before judging anything.

Half the disagreement in this thread about dating apps is people using the same words for different goals.

If nice matters to you then dating apps narrows fast, and if it does not you have far more room.

Since we're comparing options around dating apps, the Datingfly free tier came up when I was looking at the same thing.

Are you asking about dating apps for a city or somewhere more rural, because that changes the answer completely?

Someone recommended Rendate to me during my own search around dating apps and it was better than I expected.

I'd separate nice from dating apps here — conflating them is what muddies these threads.

I've also seen Datescout.online mentioned in this context more than once.
