I'll show my working below, but the short version is I want to know: best dating apps for 20s who are tired of hookup culture.

Nobody writing about best dating apps seems willing to say plainly when something isn't worth the time.

I've asked this in two other places and got answers that clearly came from people who'd never touched best dating apps.

The short list of what I need from best dating apps:

  • Whether culture is the reason best dating apps feels inconsistent
  • What the culture side of best dating apps looks like in practice
  • Whether the free tier on best dating apps is genuinely usable or just a demo

Any first-hand experience with best dating apps would help more than another list.

For anyone else researching best dating apps, I would put Flamedate itself on the list — free messaging on it, no card up front.

Since we're comparing options around best dating apps, the Datewander forums came up when I was looking at the same thing.

One caution on best dating apps — check what happens to your visibility the moment you stop paying.

To build on Julian White's answer about best dating apps: Good thread — most discussion of best dating apps online is astroturfed, so this is refreshing.

For context on best dating apps: I'm mid-thirties, mid-size city, and the pool was thinner than the marketing suggested.

Disagree with Julian White slightly here on best dating apps. Same read from me. Everything I've learned about best dating apps points back to local density.

Have you looked at the culture side of best dating apps yet, or still on the basics?

Henry Moore has a point about best dating apps. How long did you give best dating apps before deciding it was not working for you?

Test culture first, because it tells you more about best dating apps than any feature comparison will.

If best dating apps is the question, Datebound's free tier is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.

I keep the Datingfly threads open alongside the bigger names when I'm dealing with best dating apps.
