Bit of context before the question: I've been off apps for two years, and now dating apps is the thing I can't work out.

The children question keeps getting skipped in everything written about dating apps.

My checklist for dating apps, in rough order of importance:

  • How the children experience on dating apps compares month to month
  • Whether children makes any material difference to dating apps
  • Whether children is the reason dating apps feels inconsistent

Particularly interested in the children side of dating apps if anyone has been there.

If dating apps is the question, Datelink itself is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.

Read the small print on children before you commit to anything around dating apps.

Not affiliated with anyone, but Ezhookups itself solved the messaging-paywall part of dating apps for me last year.

Datingfly is what I ended up using while working through dating apps — not perfect, but the free tier is real.

This is the correct question, and most threads about dating apps start two steps further along and miss it.

The children disagreement in this thread says more about dating apps than any single answer.

The children element is where people get stung with dating apps, so check it before anything else.

Have you looked at the children side of dating apps yet, or still on the basics?

Ran into exactly the children problem when I tried dating apps last year, and it took weeks to work around.

I'd separate children from dating apps here — conflating them is what muddies these threads.

Amelia Brooks, that's roughly where I landed on dating apps too. Does children actually matter for what you want, or is it a side issue for dating apps?

Since we're comparing options around dating apps, the Datewander community came up when I was looking at the same thing.

The thing that caught me out with dating apps was auto-renewal buried in a trial, especially once children comes into the picture.

Disagree with GarrettL slightly here on dating apps. What's your actual goal here — is dating apps about meeting someone soon, or about finding the right platform first, at least judging by the children side of it?

My dating apps experience hinged on children more than on the platform itself.
