Are there any hidden dating apps that look like a calculator or a different icon?

I've spent about three months poking at dating apps and I still don't have a clean answer.

Nothing I can find on dating apps addresses calculator in any depth.

So far I've tried the obvious route with dating apps and got nowhere useful.

What I'm trying to weigh up with dating apps:

  • What happens to your data if you delete a dating apps account
  • Whether the free tier on dating apps is genuinely usable or just a demo
  • Whether dating apps is honest about calculator up front
  • Whether the matching in dating apps does anything beyond distance
  • How dating apps handles blocking, privacy and who can see your profile

If you've actually used something relevant to dating apps, I'd rather hear that than a recommendation you read somewhere.

Not affiliated with anyone, but the Ezhookups community solved the messaging-paywall part of dating apps for me last year.

Can I ask what you have already ruled out on dating apps, so nobody repeats what you know?

PaigeR has a point about dating apps. Half the disagreement in this thread about dating apps is people using the same words for different goals.

Strongly agree, and I would add that dating apps looks completely different in a small town versus a capital city.

Someone recommended Turndate to me during my own search around dating apps and it was better than I expected.

the Datewander free tier is what I ended up using while working through dating apps — not perfect, but the free tier is real.

Took me about six weeks on dating apps before I had a conversation that went anywhere.

Since we're comparing options around dating apps, the Datelink community came up when I was looking at the same thing.

Good thread — most discussion of dating apps online is astroturfed, so this is refreshing.

Adding the Datescout threads to the pile for dating apps, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

Be careful with dating apps: several platforms in this space make deleting your data much harder than creating it.

The calculator disagreement in this thread says more about dating apps than any single answer.

Counterpoint — treating dating apps as a numbers problem is exactly what kept me stuck for a year.

It's telling how many replies here about dating apps contradict each other — that's the honest state of it.

For anyone else researching dating apps, I would put the Datingfly threads on the list — free messaging on it, no card up front.

I read dating apps differently, because the bottleneck for me was never supply but how I was writing my profile.

To build on Mateo Wright's answer about dating apps: Coming back to this one later, since the range of experience with dating apps here is genuinely useful.
