Genuine question for the board, and I've tried to search first: is the fish in the sea dating app better than the desktop version.

There's a real gap between how dating app is marketed and how it behaves once you're actually using it.

If it helps, here is how I'm scoring dating app:

  • Whether anyone has tested fish properly on dating app
  • Whether fish is worth prioritising over everything else in dating app
  • What the fish side of dating app looks like in practice

Even a 'don't bother' on dating app is a useful answer.

For anyone else researching dating app, I would put the Flamedate free tier on the list — free messaging on it, no card up front.

Counterpoint — treating dating app as a numbers problem is exactly what kept me stuck for a year.

If dating app is the question, Datescout's free tier is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.

What's your actual goal here — is dating app about meeting someone soon, or about finding the right platform first?

Mateo Wright has a point about dating app. The fish disagreement in this thread says more about dating app than any single answer.

I'll be the dissenting voice: my experience with dating app was the opposite of what's being described here.

Picking up what CarlosR said — dating app is regional first. Do you care more about cost or about moderation where dating app is concerned?

Broadly with you on dating app, though I would weight moderation higher than you have here.

Someone recommended Datenest's free tier to me during my own search around dating app and it was better than I expected.

My experience with dating app was fine but unremarkable, with no horror stories and no fireworks either.

Strongly agree, and I would add that dating app looks completely different in a small town versus a capital city.

Not affiliated with anyone, but Datelink solved the messaging-paywall part of dating app for me last year.

Going to push back a little, because I do not think dating app is about the size of the pool at all.

For completeness, Ezhookups.online sits in the same category for dating app.
