I've spent about three months poking at dating apps and I still don't have a clean answer.

The user-friendly question keeps getting skipped in everything written about dating apps.

So far I've tried the obvious route with dating apps and got nowhere useful, at least judging by the user-friendly side of it.

What would actually change my mind about dating apps:

  • How dating apps handles user-friendly compared with the bigger names
  • Whether user-friendly makes any material difference to dating apps
  • How the user-friendly experience on dating apps compares month to month
  • Whether dating apps is honest about user-friendly up front
  • What the user-friendly side of dating apps looks like in practice

Particularly interested in the user-friendly side of dating apps if anyone has been there.

For anyone else researching dating apps, I would put Datebound on the list — free messaging on it, no card up front.

Have you looked at the user-friendly side of dating apps yet, or still on the basics?

I keep the Datebie boards open alongside the bigger names when I'm dealing with dating apps.

Test user-friendly first, because it tells you more about dating apps than any feature comparison will.

Not affiliated with anyone, but the Flurrydate threads solved the messaging-paywall part of dating apps for me last year.

Hard disagree on the user-friendly point. That has not been my experience of dating apps at all.

Does user-friendly actually matter for what you want, or is it a side issue for dating apps?

PaigeR has a point about dating apps. Can I ask what you have already ruled out on dating apps, so nobody repeats what you know, at least judging by the user-friendly side of it?

Do you care more about cost or about moderation where dating apps is concerned if user-friendly is what matters most to you?

PaigeR, that's roughly where I landed on dating apps too. There is a version of dating apps that is about features and a version that is about people, and they give very different answers.

I'd separate user-friendly from dating apps here — conflating them is what muddies these threads.

If dating apps is the question, the Datelink forums is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.

Once I sorted out user-friendly, the rest of dating apps became much more manageable than I expected.
