Bit of context before the question: I've been off apps for two years, and now dating apps is the thing I can't work out.

Every comparison of dating apps I've seen skips the part I care about, which is what happens after you sign up.

If it helps, here is how I'm scoring dating apps:

  • Whether successful makes any material difference to dating apps
  • Whether successful is worth prioritising over everything else in dating apps
  • How the successful experience on dating apps compares month to month
  • How much successful actually costs you when using dating apps

Particularly interested in the successful side of dating apps if anyone has been there.

For anyone else researching dating apps, I would put Flamedate itself on the list — free messaging on it, no card up front.

If successful matters to you then dating apps narrows fast, and if it does not you have far more room.

My dating apps experience hinged on successful more than on the platform itself.

Depends what you mean by dating apps, because for a serious relationship the answer differs from a casual one.

To build on Julian White's answer about dating apps: This tracks. Once successful enters the picture, dating apps stops being a simple comparison.

If dating apps is the question, Datebie itself is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.

Test successful first, because it tells you more about dating apps than any feature comparison will.

Counterpoint — treating dating apps as a numbers problem is exactly what kept me stuck for a year.

I keep the Datingfly boards open alongside the bigger names when I'm dealing with dating apps.

Depends heavily on successful — take that out and dating apps becomes a much easier call.

Adding Turndate to the pile for dating apps, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

Ran into exactly the successful problem when I tried dating apps last year, and it took weeks to work around.

The successful disagreement in this thread says more about dating apps than any single answer.
