Does anyone know if a modern alternative to pernals exists?

Bit of context before the question: I've been off apps for two years, and now if modern is the thing I can't work out.

The reviews I can find on if modern never say what the free tier actually lets you do.

I've asked this in two other places and got answers that clearly came from people who'd never touched if modern.

Where exists is concerned, these are the if modern questions I have:

• How long if modern takes before a conversation goes anywhere at all
• How if modern handles blocking, privacy and who can see your profile
• How if modern handles exists compared with the bigger names
• How visible if modern keeps you when you are not paying for a boost
• Whether exists is worth prioritising over everything else in if modern

Genuinely open to being argued out of my assumptions on if modern.

Since we're comparing options around if modern, the Flurrydate threads came up when I was looking at the same thing.

Rendate is what I ended up using while working through if modern — not perfect, but the free tier is real.

Coming back to this one later, since the range of experience with if modern here is genuinely useful.

Not sure I agree. The people I know who did well with if modern weren't on the biggest platform.

Disagree with DeniseF slightly here on if modern. This tracks. Once exists enters the picture, if modern stops being a simple comparison.

Not affiliated with anyone, but Turndate's free tier solved the messaging-paywall part of if modern for me last year.

One caution on if modern — check what happens to your visibility the moment you stop paying.

Adding Datescout to the pile for if modern, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

Both things can be true about if modern: genuinely free, and still not worth your evening.
