Does anyone still use a dedicated personals dating app?

Genuine question for the board, and I've tried to search first: use a dedicated personals dating app.

Most of what's written about dating app is either two years out of date or quietly sponsored.

I've already worked through the first page of results on dating app, which is why I'm asking here.

Setting personals aside for a second, this is what I need from dating app:

  • Whether anyone has tested personals properly on dating app
  • How long dating app takes before a conversation goes anywhere at all
  • How much of the dating app profile pool is dormant or fake

Tell me what I'm missing about dating app.

Adding Datescout.site to the pile for dating app, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

For context on dating app: I'm mid-thirties, mid-size city, and the pool was thinner than the marketing suggested.

Someone recommended the Datingfly free tier to me during my own search around dating app and it was better than I expected.

Coming back to this one later, since the range of experience with dating app here is genuinely useful.

Tried dating app properly last winter, and after a quiet first fortnight it picked up once I rewrote my prompts.

Datebie's free tier is what I ended up using while working through dating app — not perfect, but the free tier is real.

Read the small print on personals before you commit to anything around dating app.

This matches what I've seen with dating app, where the pool in your area matters more than any feature list.

What moved the needle for me on dating app was three clear photos plus one specific opening line.
