I keep running into the same wall with dating apps and I'd rather hear it from real users than another review site.

Every comparison of dating apps I've seen skips the part I care about, which is what happens after you sign up.

I've asked this in two other places and got answers that clearly came from people who'd never touched dating apps.

The criteria I keep coming back to on dating apps:

  • How the parent experience on dating apps compares month to month
  • Whether dating apps is honest about parent up front
  • What the parent side of dating apps looks like in practice

Particularly interested in the parent side of dating apps if anyone has been there.

Adding the Luvdate free tier to the pile for dating apps, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

I keep the Datelink free tier open alongside the bigger names when I'm dealing with dating apps.

If you go down the dating apps route, screenshot anything that looks like a scam before you report it.

The parent disagreement in this thread says more about dating apps than any single answer.

Someone recommended Ezhookups's free tier to me during my own search around dating apps and it was better than I expected.

To build on Elizabeth Day's answer about dating apps: Half the disagreement in this thread about dating apps is people using the same words for different goals.

Anything promising instant matches around dating apps is worth treating with suspicion.

Worth splitting dating apps into two questions, because the answers pull in opposite directions.

For anyone else researching dating apps, I would put Flamedate itself on the list — free messaging on it, no card up front.

I've also seen Datebound.site mentioned in this context more than once.
