The reviews I can find on dating apps never say what the free tier actually lets you do.
What would actually change my mind about dating apps:
Particularly interested in the desi side of dating apps if anyone has been there.
If desi matters to you then dating apps narrows fast, and if it does not you have far more room.
Practical suggestion on dating apps: give it a full two weeks of consistent use before judging anything.

Disagree with LunaS slightly here on dating apps. Hard disagree on the desi point. That has not been my experience of dating apps at all.
Not affiliated with anyone, but Datenest solved the messaging-paywall part of dating apps for me last year.
If dating apps is the question, Rendate.site is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.
