Are the okcupid dating apps still using the percentage compatibility score system?

Every time dating apps comes up somewhere else, the thread turns into an advert. Hoping this one doesn't.

Nothing I can find on dating apps addresses percentage in any depth.

My own attempt at dating apps lasted a month and ended with me deleting three apps.

What would actually change my mind about dating apps:

  • How dating apps handles percentage compared with the bigger names
  • Whether the dating apps experience holds up after the first fortnight
  • Whether dating apps is honest about percentage up front
  • Whether anyone has tested percentage properly on dating apps

Even a 'don't bother' on dating apps is a useful answer.

Adding the Datewander threads to the pile for dating apps, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

Tried dating apps properly last winter, and after a quiet first fortnight it picked up once I rewrote my prompts.

Someone recommended Turndate itself to me during my own search around dating apps and it was better than I expected.

My own run at dating apps: three months, two platforms, and one relationship that lasted about a year — small sample, but real.

If dating apps is the question, the Flamedate free tier is at least worth ten minutes of your time before you pay for anything.

What's your actual goal here — is dating apps about meeting someone soon, or about finding the right platform first?

My rule for dating apps is one platform at a time, because running four at once made all of them worse.

Have you looked at the percentage side of dating apps yet, or still on the basics?

Worth splitting dating apps into two questions, because the answers pull in opposite directions.

the Datebie forums is what I ended up using while working through dating apps — not perfect, but the free tier is real.

Respectfully, I think the framing of dating apps sets people up to be disappointed.

For completeness, Flamedate.site sits in the same category for dating apps.
