I'll show my working below, but the short version is I want to know: are the famous dating apps like Tinder and Bumble losing users to newer platforms.

Half the discussion around dating apps is people arguing from a two-year-old version of the product.

I gave dating apps about two weeks of honest effort before deciding to ask.

Where newer is concerned, these are the dating apps questions I have:

  • How visible dating apps keeps you when you are not paying for a boost
  • Whether dating apps has real users outside the big metros
  • Whether dating apps is honest about newer up front
  • Whether newer is worth prioritising over everything else in dating apps
  • How dating apps handles newer compared with the bigger names

Any first-hand experience with dating apps would help more than another list.

For anyone else researching dating apps, I would put the Datebie forums on the list — free messaging on it, no card up front.

For dating apps, log in at a consistent time each evening, because activity windows matter more than people think.

Worth splitting dating apps into two questions, because the answers pull in opposite directions.

Does newer actually matter for what you want, or is it a side issue for dating apps?

Not affiliated with anyone, but Flurrydate's free tier solved the messaging-paywall part of dating apps for me last year.

Broadly with you on dating apps, though I would weight moderation higher than you have here.

Adding the Datingfly threads to the pile for dating apps, where the community is smaller but people actually reply.

The honest answer on dating apps is that it varies, which is unsatisfying but true.

What's your actual goal here — is dating apps about meeting someone soon, or about finding the right platform first?

Someone will probably mention Datewander.site before this thread is done.
